The principle of salting-out method is the same-ion effect, which reduces the solubility of sodium sulfate. The portion of sodium sulfate exceeding this solubility precipitates as a solid. After adding a certain amount of solid sodium chloride to molten saturated sodium sulfate, sodium sulfate precipitates out of the solution. Solid-liquid separation can yield solid anhydrous nitrate. Rinse with saturated sodium sulfate and then dry to obtain the finished product. The mother liquor can be evaporated and crystallized to recover NaCl and recycle it .
